Children & the Arts was founded by HRH The Prince of Wales with the fundamental belief that every child has the right to be inspired by the arts. The charity’s UK wide arts engagement programmes work with deprived children from areas of social and economic disadvantage as well as children’s hospices, and build partnerships between their schools and local arts spaces.

The charity takes children on a journey into their local arts venue and unlocks the arts for those who need to be inspired by them the most, raising children’s self-esteem and confidence, and nurturing their communication skills. Through the work of Children & the Arts, children learn that cultural venues are welcoming, accessible places to visit and since 2006 Children & the Arts has introduced over 300,000 children to life-changing arts experiences.

“I’m absolutely stunned! I always expect a lot from them, but this has really put them in a different light. This project will have changed their lives!” Teacher

ART IN A CORNER is a fantastic project, and Children & the Arts is delighted to have been chosen as a beneficiary charity. Music and art are at the core of what we do and the project fits perfectly with our passion for ensuring that children, regardless of social and economic disadvantage, experience the arts to build a foundation for a positive future. Money raised from ART IN A CORNER will go directly towards our projects, helping us to reach many thousands of children and young people in 2016 – our 10th anniversary year – and beyond.
